Teresa Thompson is a Registered Art Therapist, Pennsylvania Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Brain Injury Specialist. She completed her Master’s degree in Art Therapy at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She began her career, developing the art therapy component of a day habilitation program for adults who have sustained brain injuries in Chicago, IL. She conducted two research studies, assessing the use of ceramic wheel-throwing in brain injury rehabilitation and presented the outcomes of this research at the American Art Therapy Association national conference in 2017.
Teresa has also worked in an inpatient behavioral health setting, providing therapy to individuals and families and developing psycho-educational resources and programming to meet the needs of clients.
Throughout her career, Teresa has worked with therapists specializing in the creative arts therapies and strongly believes in the use of all modalities of creative self-expression in the therapeutic process.
