Abby Nixon is a recent transplant from Florida, where she taught and performed for 12 years, teaching students of all ages and performing music of all genres. Abby enjoys playing in a professional orchestra just as much as she enjoys playing in jazz ensemble or rock band, and she tries to instill her love of improvisation and a sense of creative possibility into her students, alongside a high standard of excellence in traditional violin technique. She graduated from Jacksonville University with a degree in violin performance and studied with Ivan Galamian pupil Aaron Krosnick. In addition to playing violin, Abby enjoys sewing, singing and sci-fi.
