Adolpho is an active musical theatre audition/song interpretation and college audition prep teacher based out of NYC as well as in high schools and schools across the country.  In this class, you’ll have a safe environment to discover your own personal brand and point of view, as well as a space to strengthen your acting and audition technique to build confidence and insight into your choices.  You’ll intensify your storytelling skills, focus on the power of the text, heighten your stakes, and create a complete star vehicle from start to finish.

Adolpho mentors high school students in finding what college theatre program best suits them and how to create a strong showcase for their burgeoning talent and brand. Adolpho’s students have gone on to Broadway, major film and television, national commercials, national tours, sold out cabarets, and have been accepted in almost all the major Musical Theatre colleges across the country.

Besides teaching, Adolpho Blaire is a performer, director, and choreographer. As a performer, he spent a year and a half at the famous Upright Citizen’s Brigade in NYC doing High School Talent Show with Ilana Glazer. He toured with A Chorus Line and was a principal dancer in Julie Taymor’s major movie-musical Across the Universe.  Regionally, he’s been seen at the McCarter, TUTS, Walnut Street, Riverside, Rubicon, Maine State Music Theatre, Flat Rock, Westchester Broadway, Theatre By the Sea, Wick Theatre, WV Public, Starlight, Mountain Playhouse, Gateway Playhouse, Seaside Music Theatre, and more. He’s additionally done numerous industrials, readings, workshops, concerts, comedy shows, and acapella groups.

As a director and choreographer, Adolpho has been an Associate on the new Presenting Ethel Merman (starring Carolee Carmello), the Broadway workshop of Sugar Babies (with Beth Leavel and Michael McGrath) as well as projects such as North Shore Music Theatre, Westchester Broadway, Theatre By the Sea, Gretna Theatre, and the York.  On his own, Adolpho’s directed at Here Arts Center, P.S. 122 (NY Innovative Theatre Award), Ars Nova, et. al. and has choreographed for regional/stocks, cruise ships, resorts, industrials, and more.  Adolpho started his career as the Assistant Creative Director for Six Flags theme parks writing, producing, and directing shows for over 20 parks internationally.

Adolpho holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from Shenandoah University.
