Andrew Toriello is a Philadelphia-based trumpet player and educator. He has been playing trumpet since 2010 and has extensive experience in a variety of genres that run the gambit from classical music to jazz and beyond. He has studied privately with players such as John Swana, Dan Blacksburg, and Chris Coletti (formerly of Canadian Brass fame). In 2021 he graduated with a degree in jazz performance with a concentration in trumpet from Temple University. He performs regularly with the jazz-funk quartet “Pocket Flowers”, along with many other groups in the Philadelphia area. As an educator, his background in both classical and jazz music makes him uniquely knowledgeable in both trumpet technique and improvisation. When he’s not busy practicing or playing trumpet, Andrew enjoys making electronic music, playing chess, and reading.
