Beiling Foss grew up in a musical family in Shanghai, China. Focusing on piano, she graduated from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music then immigrated to the United States where she graduated from the Cleveland Institute of Music as a student of Vitya Vronsky Babin. While a student, she accompanied the choral groups at the Cleveland School of the Arts, and accompanied several fellow students for their senior recitals. After graduation, Mrs. Foss started a private piano teaching practice in the Cleveland area that quickly grew to more than 30 students. She became a member of American College of Musicians/National Guild of Piano Teachers and the Cleveland Piano Teacher Association where her students constantly won prizes in the annual competitions. In 2008, she joined the faculty of the Solon Center for the Arts shortly after it opened. She relocated to Philadelphia in 2015 and joined the faculty of Settlement Music School. Mrs. Foss has extensive experience teaching piano and music theory that spans more than 25 years.
