Bell Thompson is a vibrant young trumpet player and bandleader from Seattle, WA currently based out of Philadelphia, PA. Bell’s melodic and expressive trumpet playing embraces the jazz tradition while showcasing her clear sound and unique voice. Bell is a recent graduate of the Boyer College of Music Jazz Performance program at Temple University, where she studied with Terell Stafford and Joe Magnarelli.

Bell has been named one of Philadelphia’s Rising Women in Jazz by Jazz Philadelphia, and featured in the Temple News for presenting her research project at the 2022 Jazz Education Network Conference, Gender and Jazz: The Experience of Women in Jazz Education, which was awarded the 2021 Livingstone Undergraduate Research Award for Diversity and Social Justice.
