Drew Gaunce is a professional upright and electric bass player from Philadelphia, as well as a passionate educator. He started playing electric bass at the age of 10 playing in different rock/r&b bands around Philadelphia, and upright bass at the age of 14. For high school he attended the Arts Academy At Benjamin rush where he was trained in classical and jazz music. Drew knew this is what I wanted to do for the rest of his life so he went onto receive a degree in jazz performance from Temple University, under the direction of David Wong, and Madison Rast. At temple Drew has been able to play gigs with some of the top musicians of our time such as Terell Stafford, Tim Warfield, Bruce Barth, Larry Mckenna and many more. He has also been the bass player for Americas Got Talent Winner Bianca Ryan for the last three years. After his time at Temple Drew has went on to play Broadway shows such as “Home For The Holidays” at the prestigious August Wilson Theatre featuring Bianca Ryan, American Idol winner Candice Glover, Winner of The Voice Josh Kaufman, YouTube Sensation Peter Hollens, and Oscar Nominated actor Danny Aiello. Drew currently plays many different gigs in and around Philadelphia, as well as teaches. He is currently working on his first educational music book, and other projects. He is excited for what the future holds.
