Erica Zimmer’s choral journey started in her hometown: Indianapolis, Indiana. For 10 years, Erica was a member of the Indianapolis Children’s Choir where she traveled to Italy, England, Germany and all over the United States performing under the direction of Henry Leck. She went on to receive a Bachelor of Music degree from Miami University in Choral Education and Vocal Performance and a Master of Music degree from Florida State University in Vocal Performance. She has also studied at the Luxembourg Conservatory of Music. She completed young artists training programs with Opera Memphis, Kentucky Opera, Des Moines Metro Opera and Aspen Opera Theater. Erica continues to be an active opera and musical theater performer across the country, having received accolades for roles such as Marie in La Fille du Régiment, Eurydice in Orpheus in the Underworld, Despina in Così fan tutte. Erica also teaches private voice and piano lesson at the Malvern School of Music in Malvern, Pennsylvania. She is thrilled to be working as part of the Music Education Pathways program and sharing her love of choral singing with the students of Philadelphia.
