Joshua Zolten graduated from Belmont University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Music in commercial guitar performance. His Instructors were Stan Lassiter, John Pell, Mario Dasilva, and Robert Thompson. He is also an alumnus of Settlement Music School having studied with William Peters and Luke Honer and in the fall of 2016 he began teaching at Settlement’s Kardon Northeast branch. He has also taught guitar students and instructed ensembles at Philadelphia’s Clef Club for Jazz and Performing Arts. While living in Nashville Joshua accompanied theatre productions with Circle Players. While there he also performed extensively as a work for hire musician with R&B vocalists. Joshua was a member of the B.B. Kings Blues Club All-Star Band and entertained audiences throughout the Mediterranean and Caribbean seas aboard Holland America Cruise Lines. Since moving back to Philadelphia he has performed with Philadelphia hip-hop artist Freeway. Joshua is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Music Education at Temple University. He performs and teaches Classical, Jazz, R&B, Pop, and Rock guitar styles. He also studies Afro-Cuban Percussion, the Cuban Tres, and Cuban music in general and has visited Cuba to pursue his educational interests.
