Kali Petrizzo (She/Her) is a dancer and choreographer currently living and working in Philadelphia, PA. She is co-director of dance theater company, Sheer Spectacle founded in early 2022. Kali received her BFA in dance from the University of the Arts, under the direction of Donna Faye Burchfield in 2019. While studying at UArts, Kali had the opportunity to perform as a dance extra in the film entitled, AVIVA, directed by Boaz Yakin and choreographed by Bobbi Jene Smith. Upon her graduation, Kali was among a select group of UArts students that studied abroad in Israel. She had the opportunity to do workshops in the Suzanne Dellal Center for Dance and Theater and the Vertigo Eco Art Village. There, she worked with Adi Boutrous, Yasmeen Godder, Ayala Frenkel and studied the repertoire of world renowned Batsheva Dance Company. Kali has co-choreographed, directed, and performed in three dance theater works with partner Lily Mello under Sheer Spectacle. The dance group has shown work and been selected for numerous festivals in Philadelphia and New York City. They hope to continue making work that reaches new audiences for many years to come. Now, Kali continues discovering new avenues of movement through her various jobs as a dance instructor. Her time spent dreaming and reimagining dance with young artists is something she is grateful and continuously inspired by.
