Special Arrangement Faculty

A member of the Philadelphia Orchestra for 42 years, including 13 as Assistant Principal Viola, Sid Curtiss now serves as a chamber music coach at Settlement Music School, where he coaches the Gabriel Braverman, Ann Newman, and the Gail W. Snitzer Advanced Study String Quartets. Curtiss graduated from New York’s High School of Music and Art, then attended the Philadelphia Conservatory of Music where he studied with the famed Leonard Mogill. A former member of the New Orleans Symphony and the National Symphony Orchestra, Curtiss was also a member of the Philarte Quartet and the New Philadelphia Quartet.
