Bill joined the Settlement faculty in 2012 after 30+ years of private teaching on the Main Line and in South Jersey. Bill’s areas of focus as both a teacher and performer include drum set, percussion, jazz and world music. He also has extensive experience helping students prepare for auditions for ensembles, college and graduate school. In addition to giving individual lessons, Bill has created the curriculum for and taught a wide range of group classes and workshops. Bill received a BA in Music from Rowan University and a Master’s in Music in Percussion Performance from Miami University. He has studied drum set with Jeff Hamilton, Greg Bissonette, and Armand Santarelli and percussion/world music with Tony Vacca, Randy Crafton, and Ustad Mohammed Lutfi. Bill also has extensive classical experience; he has played with The Haddonfield Symphony, Bridgeton Symphony, The Whitewater Opera Company and was the Principal Percussionist & Timpanist with The Philharmonic of Southern New Jersey. Bill currently plays drum set in several jazz groups in and around Philadelphia including Jazz Volcano.
