Germantown
Welcome to the Germantown Branch
Our Germantown Branch is Settlement’s second oldest site, founded in 1958 by then Executive Director Sol Schoenbach, former principal bassoon of the Philadelphia Orchestra. In addition to Settlement’s original location, the Mary Louise Curtis Branch, Germantown houses Settlement’s nationally recognized Kaleidoscope Preschool Arts Enrichment Program. Committed to furthering Settlement’s more than century-long endeavor to provide quality arts education to the local community it serves, Germantown’s enrollment reflects the families that call our neighborhood home. In addition to private instrumental and voice instruction, Germantown also offers a number of class and ensemble opportunities for students to learn together in a group setting. Germantown is home of the Gleeksman-Kohn Children’s Choir, Rock Band, guitar ensembles, percussion ensembles, and the Benjamin and Carol Auger Contemporary Ensemble. We also offer classes in musicianship, dance, and for children as young as 6 months. As a pillar of the Germantown area for over 60 years, our Germantown Branch is proud to offer opportunities throughout the year to help our local community, including a robust annual food drive as well as an annual book drive.
