Kaleidoscope PLUS After-school Program
Make the Most of Your Child’s Day
In Kaleidoscope (KAL) Plus, students participate in a variety of music, theater and visual art classes each day with our creative, caring and highly-qualified staff of artist teachers. Our dynamic arts-based curriculum strengthens students’ reading, language, arts, math, and logical thinking skills, while advancing their social skills through interactive arts-based classes.
Our music classes cover basic theory, choral music, composition, and musical games, along with giving students monthly exposure to instruments. Our theater classes teach movement, storytelling, musical theater and film-making. Art classes introduce design and detail skills that are cross-curricular to our strengths in music.
Each teacher has created a class that culminates in two highly-anticipated events: a fall performance and a spring film festival. The daily classes follow a theme and support students’ interests throughout the school year.
All KAL Plus students receive homework support and a snack, in addition to the daily arts programming. The program is open to current KAL students, and KAL graduates and new students to Settlement who are in Kindergarten though 3rd grade. Kaleidoscope Plus is offered five days a week, but there are four-, three- and two-day options available.
An escort to Settlement is available from area schools including William M. Meredith Elementary School, George W. Nebinger Elementary School, General George McCall Elementary School, and Christopher Columbus Charter School.
