Michael Mester has been studying percussion for the last 13 years. He received a Bachelor’s degree in Commercial Music from Kutztown University, in 2021, and received a Master’s degree in Jazz Studies from Temple University, in 2023. Michael has studied with masters such as: John Riley, Justin Faulkner, Ari Hoenig, Khary Abdul Shaheed, Frank Kumor and Paul Gallelo. Michael is a freelancing musician in Philadelphia, who plays with multiple bands, and is an educator. Michael has experience with classical percussion, marching band, jazz, commercial music, and has been teaching for the last 5 years.
