Chris Farr

Chris Farr is a renowned saxophonist, educator, and clinician with a career spanning over three decades. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Music from the University of the Arts in 1994 and went on to complete his Master’s in Arts and Teaching in 1995. A respected figure in both performance and education, Chris served as a professor of Jazz Studies at the University of the Arts for 28 years and currently holds a full-time faculty position in Jazz Studies at Temple University.

Widely recognized for his dynamic playing and versatility, Chris has performed, toured, and recorded with a diverse roster of acclaimed artists, including Blood, Sweat & Tears, Elvis Costello, Jill Scott, Sting, John Legend, The Roots, Maynard Ferguson & Big Bop Nouveau, The Philly Pops, and The Jazz Orchestra of Philadelphia. In addition to his academic and performance work, Chris is an active clinician and proud endorser of Andreas Eastman saxophones, sharing his expertise with students and musicians around the world.
