Sean​ ​Markey​ ​is​ ​a​ ​new​ ​member​ ​to​ ​the​ ​Settlement​ ​Music​ ​School’s​ ​faculty.​ ​In​ ​2016​ ​he graduated​ ​from​ ​Temple​ ​University’s​ ​Boyer​ ​School​ ​of​ ​Music​ ​in​ ​the​ ​top​ ​5%​ ​of​ ​his​ ​class with​ ​a​ ​bachelor’s​ ​degree​ ​in​ ​Jazz​ ​Performance.​ ​Sean’s​ ​teachers​ ​include​ ​Tom​ ​Giacabetti, Terell​ ​Stafford,​ ​Dick​ ​Oatts,​ ​Bruce​ ​Barth,​ ​Greg​ ​Kettinger​ ​and​ ​Ben​ ​Schachter.​ ​Sean performs​ ​under​ ​his​ ​own​ ​name​ ​and​ ​is​ ​included​ ​on​ ​two​ ​records,​ ​one​ ​being​ ​the​ ​Temple University​ ​Jazz​ ​Orchestra​ ​Sinatra​ ​record.​ ​Sean​ ​was​ ​a​ ​Jazz​ ​Theory​ ​Tutor​ ​at​ ​Temple University​ ​where​ ​he​ ​worked​ ​primarily​ ​with​ ​a​ ​special​ ​needs​ ​student.​ ​Sean​ ​also​ ​currently teaches​ ​at​ ​The​ ​Philadelphia​ ​School​ ​and​ ​will​ ​be​ ​pursuing​ ​his​ ​Master’s​ ​Degree​ ​within​ ​the next​ ​year.
