Russian pianist Larisa Kifyak was born in Moscow to the family of a military engineer. After living in Germany for a couple years, she moved to Moldova with her parents, bringing a wonderful, ancient piano. Probably, that fact had an influence on her future musical career. She loved her piano dearly and began taking lessons at the young age of five. In a few months, her first piano teacher recommended for her to become a professional pianist. After graduating from a professional music school, where she gave her first piano recital, Larisa then continued her studies and graduated from the Gnesin Music Academy, with honors (Master’s degree) in Moscow. Following that, she pursued her education at the postgraduate course of St. Petersburg Conservatory (Ph.D). During her studies, she gave many solo and accompanying performances. After graduation, she worked as a teacher and accompanist at the Moldavian Conservatory and continued to perform in Moldova, Russia, and abroad.
