For over fifty years David Shunskis has been teaching piano at Settlement Music School during which time he guided many talented students, some who have established significant musical careers. David’s principal teacher for over a dozen years was

Vladimir Sokoloff. Other legendary teachers include Orlando Cole, Edgar Ortenburg, Tana Bowden, Geoffrey Michaels, Harvey Wedeen and Seymour Bernstein. As a church musician David performed as organist and choir director including presenting major chorale works. He has directed community music series which produced operas and chamber music concerts.

David has been a frequent performer on the Settlement stage, giving many solo recitals, children’s concerts and collaborations with colleagues.
