PMAY Masterclass: Randall Goosby, Violin

Signed exclusively to Decca Classics in 2020 at the age of 24, American violinist Randall Goosby is acclaimed for the sensitivity and intensity of his musicianship alongside his determination to make music more inclusive and accessible, as well as bringing the music of under-represented composers to light.


Highlights of Randall Goosby’s 2024/25 season include debut performances with the Chicago Symphony/Sir Mark Elder, the Minnesota Orchestra/Thomas Søndergård, National Arts Centre Orchestra/Alexander Shelley, Montreal Symphony Orchestra/Dalia Stasevska and Netherlands Radio Philharmonic/Michele Mariotti. He joins the London Philharmonic Orchestra on their U.S. tour led by Edward Gardner.

PMAY Workshop: “What is this piece about? How thinking about music can enrich your interpretation”

Join us as Tom Whitman, composer and professor of music at Swarthmore College, leads an in-person theory workshop and shares fundamentals, and how to understand and approach a piece of music. This class will be split into two different sessions: form 6:00-7:00pm it will be a session cater to students who are just beginning their music theory journey, going over fundamentals. The session from 7:00-8:00pm will be cater to more advanced students. Both sessions can be attended by all students. Please RSVP before attending.

PMAY Masterclass: Priscilla Lee, Cello

Associate Principal Cello Priscilla Lee joined The Philadelphia Orchestra with the start of the 2016-17 season. A 2005 Avery Fisher Career Grant recipient, she began studying at the age of five and made her solo debut in 1998 with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. A native of California, she studied with Ronald Leonard at the Colburn School of Performing Arts and in 1998 went on to the Curtis Institute of Music to study with David Soyer. In 2005 she received a Master of Music degree from the Mannes College of Music, where she studied with Timothy Eddy.
