Faculty Spotlight: Andrea Carlson’s Mysterious Moon Published by RCM!

We’re thrilled to share that Andrea Carlson’s original composition “Mysterious Moon” has just been licensed by the Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) in Canada for 10 years! Published by RCM Publishing, this beautiful piece is now part of its Voice Repertoire, Level 6, starting with the 2025 edition.

Andrea wrote both the lyrics and music for “Mysterious Moon,” originally as a guitar arrangement. For inclusion in the RCM repertoire, the piece was adapted for vocal piano accompaniment—with Andrea’s approval to ensure it stayed true to her vision.

A versatile artist, Andrea is a classical guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter with six albums and numerous singles. Her music blends jazz influences with the elegance of classical guitar. One of her French originals, “Avant que l’amour nous prenne,” was even featured in the 2019 holiday film Christmas in Paris!

Andrea’s award-winning song “Mysterious Moon” can be found on all streaming platforms and YouTube, featured on her debut album Drivin’ Myself Wild For You (2011).
