Program Coordinator

Beth enjoys a multi-faceted career as a violist, conductor, educator, and administrator.
She is the violist and director of the Fairmount String Quartet, conductor of Philadelphia Sinfonia Strings youth orchestra, director of the Lower and Middle School String Ensembles at the Haverford School, and an adjunct professor of violin and viola at the Community College of Philadelphia. She has recorded and performed internationally with the Tyrone String Sextet (jazz), which brought her to become a voting member of the Grammy organization, and the Fairmount String Quartet with whom she is a Spring Garden Records recording artist. Her diverse career has given her the skills to deftly coordinate the Adult Chamber Players and Adult Orchestra programs at Settlement, both musically and administratively. She takes great joy in setting the musical table for participants’ weekly sight-reading sessions as well as the snack table for refreshment time, where her brownies are legendary.
