Ethan Young is a graduate of Bard College and Conservatory with a BM in Music Performance and a BA in Physics. He has studied cello under Peter Wiley and Annette Perry-Delihas. His chamber experience spans the last ten years, including tutelage under Melissa Reardon, Raman Ramakrishnan, Brian Hong, Yi-Wen Jiang, and more, representing a wide range of musicians from actively performing ensembles. He has been assistant faculty at the Southampton Strings Festival since 2022, and has performed in orchestral and chamber settings throughout the Northeast US, Italy, Germany, and China. An avid advocate for the performance of new music, he has toured with Bard’s East West Ensemble, a Chinese-Western ensemble with a repertoire of newly composed works and re-arranged classics. He most enjoys small chamber settings and frequently puts on cello-only chamber concerts. He has performed with the Bard Conservatory Orchestra, the Woodstock Symphony Orchestra, and the Bard Baroque Ensemble.
