Jasmine Harris resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania as both a musician and an educator. They obtained their Masters Degree from Temple University’s Boyer College of Music and Dance, and, prior to this degree, obtained their Bachelor of Music from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia. Her musical background includes heavy involvement in both universities’ programs, as well as summer music festivals here and abroad. As a performer, she has played in halls such as the Kimmel Center and The Sandler Center, has performed in masterclasses with Paul Neubauer, Kim Kashkashian, and The Dover Quartet, and is a freelancer for events and weddings. They began teaching private viola and violin lessons during their undergraduate studies, and have continued to do so. She was a private teacher for Temple’s Community Music Scholars Program (CMSP), and has worked with Play On, Philly in the past.

In addition to teaching, she has been an educator in various capacities including substitute teaching for early and head start programs in Philadelphia, and a substitute teacher for Richmond City Public Schools. Her passion doesn’t stop at music. In addition to building a career as a professional violist, they are always looking to give back and engage with their community.
