Jody Kidwell is a graduate of Ohio State University with a B.M. in Vocal Performance; a graduate of the Academy of Vocal Arts; and twice attended The American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria. Ms. Kidwell was a winner in the Third Luciano Pavarotti/Opera Company of Philadelphia (OCP) International Voice Competition, and was chosen by Mr. Pavarotti to sing in a production of Luisa Miller filmed by PBS. She sang the role of Desideria in Giancarlo Menotti’s The Saint of Bleecker Street to critical acclaim at the Academy of Music, originated the roles of Mrs. Medlock in The Secret Garden with Pennsylvania Opera Theater and Ester Zikorn in Center City Opera Theater’s premiere of Slaying the Dragon, and has performed with Opera Company of Philadelphia, Opera Columbus, Opera Delaware, and other opera companies. She has performed with orchestras throughout North and South America, is a frequent guest soloist with choral groups, and can be heard on the Lyrichord label in recordings of Mozart’s Requiem and Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis with Vox AmaDeus Ensemble.
