Lisa Chae enjoys teaching, as it is a big part of her life. It is her passion to teach others and help them appreciate music in a special way. Lisa is a graduate of The Mannes College of Music with an artist diploma and studied with Ms. Powers and Ms. Hyman. She also received a Bachelors of Music from The Philadelphia College of Performing Arts. While there, she studied with Mr. Whitten and Dr. Feder. Lisa received Certificates from the Suzuki Association of the Americas. She taught piano at the Academy of Children’s Music in Fort Washington from 1983-91. She was the music director and accompanist at the Calvary Presbyterian Church of Elkins Park from 1984-87. Lisa has been teaching at Settlement Music School since 1992 using the Suzuki and Traditional methods. She has taught students of all ages and levels. Lisa enjoys painting, baking, running, traveling, and spending time with her husband and daughter.
