Settlement alumnus Luke Honer began his guitar studies with William Peters in 1992. He went on to study the classical guitar at The Hartt School of Music where he received full tuition scholarships for his bachelors and masters degrees and was the first undergraduate guitarist to be admitted into the “Performance 20/20” honors chamber music program. At Hartt, Luke studied with Richard Provost and competed in numerous guitar competitions, he was 2nd place national finalist of the 2003 MTNA Classical Guitar Competition held in Salt Lake City. Luke has been teaching guitar at Settlement since 2004, in addition to his many private students he also teaches guitar classes and coaches ensembles.
