Bob Gold grew up in an art-filled musical family, taking piano lessons at the Germantown branch of Settlement Music School with Irene Beck and violin lessons in his public school. As a science major at the University of Delaware, Bob re-connected with his passion for music, taking piano literature classes with pianist Michael Steinberg and discovering the beauty of jazz and improvised music. Upon graduation Bob concentrated on self teaching and forming a trio that performed, among other places, at the Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia for many years. More recently, Bob has concentrated on solo piano, and in expanding his skills as both a private and classroom teacher. He has a Masters degree in Music Education from the University of the Arts and an Orff Schulwerk Certification from U. of Arts/Villanova University.
