Every August, Philadelphia Magazine devotes an entire issue to recognizing the best people, places and things to do in the City. This year’s “Best of Philly” list looks a little different.
“When it came to recognizing what’s best this year, we found ourselves feeling more appreciative than exuberant, more respectful than rejoicing. Which is why alongside categories like Best Chef and Best Trainers, you’ll find tributes to the heroes of the past few months,” a July preview post read on Philadelphia Magazine’s website.
Settlement Music School’s Kids: Live series is named as one of the Best Virtual Kids’ Classes this year.
“The city shut down and the masses rose up, and scores of people, places and things suddenly stood out because of it,” the preview post read.
Settlement launched its Kids: Live series shortly after the School transitioned to distance learning following the closure of its branches in March. The class series offers free music and dance classes with Settlement faculty live on Settlement’s Facebook page every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
To learn more about free class offerings, check out Settlement’s Digital Learning page. Registration fees are also being waived for new students interested in the School’s four-week online individual instruction package.
