October 12 Update
We are continuing to monitor the current state of COVID-19 in our region and have implemented the first steps of a plan that will allow us to safely reopen our buildings in a slow, staggered approach. We understand that virtual instruction is particularly challenging for certain classes, so we have carefully started to invite small groups of students and faculty back to our buildings while closely adhering to the latest guidelines from the CDC. It is our hope that we will be able to slowly welcome other small groups back in our buildings soon. Please continue to check this page for updates.

An important message from the Chief Executive Officer of Settlement Music School
Dear Settlement Music School Community,
I hope you are doing well and enjoying your summer.
We have been monitoring the situation with COVID-19 on a daily basis. Due to the current state of the virus in our region, we have decided to delay the September opening of our buildings for in-person instruction. We will continually monitor and reassess the situation and share an update on this page by October 12.
Individual instruction, classes, and ensembles will begin on time through virtual learning. Our 2020-2021 season for individual instruction will begin the week of September 8, and classes will begin the week of September 21.
As always, our branch staff is available to answer any questions that you might have. If you have questions regarding registration for the fall, please reach out to us and we will be more than happy to assist you in the process. If you are new to Settlement, be sure to ask about our waived registration fee for new students interested in our online lessons and classes. We are committed to assisting each of you to ensure that our online learning platforms continue to serve the needs of our families.
Our students and families have had such incredibly rewarding and positive experiences with their virtual lessons, classes, and ensembles. We have heard countless stories from families about how impactful the experience has been for their children (and for themselves as adult students) to continue their learning during this pandemic. Through great moments in lessons, classes, ensembles, and performance hours over the past several months, the level of instruction and engagement remains as high as it has ever been in Settlement’s 112-year history. Our students and faculty make us so very proud! I would also like to add that we were so excited to see that our Facebook Live series Settlement Kids: Live received Philadelphia magazine’s 2020 Best of Philly® award for Best Way For Parents to Get a Moment to Themselves.
We are very much looking forward to the time when we can safely resume lessons, classes, and ensembles in-person. Until then, let us continue to play, sing, and dance online!
Please stay well,
CEO, Settlement Music School
