French Horn
It’s not actually French.
The name may be confusing, but the first spiral wrapped horns with valves actually came from Germany. French or German, the horn has long held an important place in the brass section of the symphony orchestra and is the go-to instrument for composers looking for a triumphant or dramatic sound.
