Viola
Bridging the gap between a violin and a cello.
Although sometimes overshadowed by its smaller and near identical cousin, the violin, the viola has long been an integral member of the any orchestra. The viola has even been singled out as a solo instrument by many composers, like Hindemith and Bartok, who appreciate its warm and resonant qualities.
